I just want to sleep on this desk rn, I should’ve brought more caffeine, but I left my Tim’s card at home. Real tragedy. ):
I got a call this morning from my teacher~ Apparently I passed the placement test with a really high mark, so I wouldn’t need to take the first year Japanese course. This is good and bad. Good: I don’t have to be bored for most of the course, and I don’t have to feel like I’m making the people around me feel bad because I know all the answers. Bad: This means potentially I have to take the half course, which would put me back a whole year.
There’s also the financial issue of dropping the course, which is good: I get money back. And bad: I didn’t get all the money back and now I have to contact the registrar’s office and see what they can do, and if I can get it refunded, otherwise I’ve lost $300 dollars for nothing.
About the half year course. I also explained to the teacher (on the phone D:) that I planned on taking all four years, and that I was wondering if I could skip into second year. She said “that is possible”, so that’s good right? Then she set up a meeting with the head of the Japanese department, on Tuesday, to discuss what I should do/possibilities. So that was really nice of her!
I’m really sad that I can’t be in her class, because she seems like an amazing teacher and a really nice person! As far as I know she only teaches the summer course too. ): However if I can work out a way to get back my tuition money, and a way to skip into second year, I’ll be really happy!
Wish me luck! > <;;
Listening to sensei’s lectures recorded, you really begin to realize he says ‘ne’ after every sentence. Sometimes every half sentence. It’s amusing.
